Productivity Commission submission
The Productivity Commission (PC) made a submission to the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water’s Carbon Leakage Review.
This submission responds to the Review’s second consultation paper and notes that introducing a border carbon adjustment (BCA) mechanism would bring the need to consider interactions with Australia’s existing carbon leakage-related policies, and highlights the importance of monitoring and review of any future BCA mechanism.
The PC provided the submission to the review on 3 December 2024 and published on our website on 9 December 2024.
